Six-Acre Estate · Carmel, Indiana
The Meridian Estate
Project Story
Commissioned to anchor a six-acre estate, the design begins with a single sightline from the breakfast room and lets the water hold every following decision. A covered pavilion shelters a copper-clad kitchen; a low fire trough draws the eye through evening; cedar warms the architecture as the limestone cools.
Design Challenge
Anchor a six-acre property around a single sightline from the breakfast room, without crowding the architecture of the home.
Lifestyle Outcome
A family who now eats five nights a week outdoors from May through October; a backyard wedding for their eldest daughter held entirely on the limestone deck.
Unique Feature
Twin 19-ft slabs of French limestone, hand-set as the spa coping in a single afternoon — no joints visible at the water line.
